The Case Automobile

Case Automobile[1]
In the middle of two of the Oklahoma Harvest photographs is a Case automobile and two men.

Look as the car radiator - it is a Case automobile - a luxury car of its day. I did not know before researching the Case car that the Case Corporation produced automobiles.

According to Racine History (http://www.racinehistory.com/jicase.html), "in 1910, the J.I. Case Threshing Machine Co. purchased the Pierce Motor Co. ... The Case Company renamed the Automobile "Case" ... Case automobiles came in Touring models, Sedans, Coupes, and a few sporting types. Case continued to build automobiles until the mid 1920s."

You Tube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjPmkmm7iBM ) presents an interesting slide show of the Case Automobile Company cars.

Date

Circa 1910 - While the Joe Kirmse Shattuck Farm photograph is labeled 1907, the Case automobile was not produced until 1910 - hence the date is 1910 or later.

Location

Goodwin, Oklahoma -  near Goodwin, Oklahoma. The farms owned by Joe Kirmse and Louis Kirmse are 5 miles east of Goodwin, Oklahoma and southwest of Shattuck, Oklahoma.
