He was born on 06 Feb 1835 in Fichtenhainichen, Altenburger Land, Thüringen, Germany. He died on 12 Dec 1915 in Farrar, Perry, Missouri, USA.

- Note that the photographer, Genelli (923 Olive Street, St. Louis, MO), is the same photographer who took the Schroeder family portraits. Possibly this photograph was taken when Barbara visited relatives in St. Louis, Missouri. The Schroeder family was related to the Kirmse family through the Peter Meier family which did not occur until after William Kirmse and Martha Cordes were married. Possibly there are other connections?
