When George Ferdinand Kaufmann was born on May 18, 1899, in Altenburg, Missouri, his father, Ferdinand, was 42 and his mother, Hulda, was 31. He married Ella Martha Maria Fritsche on April 26, 1931, in Farrar, Missouri. When Ella Martha Maria Fritsche was born on June 9, 1907, in Farrar, Missouri, her father, Richard, was 34 and her mother, Anna, was 31.

They had four children during their marriage. He died on June 26, 1982, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 83, and was buried in Altenburg, Missouri.  She died on May 16, 1991, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 83, and was buried in Altenburg, Missouri.
