When August Karl "Charles" Kirmse was born on September 2, 1870, in Farrar, Missouri, his father, Julius, was 35 and his mother, Barbara, was 28. He married Amelia B. (Hacker) Heise[3] on June 23, 1907, in Longtown, Missouri. They had two children during their marriage - August Martin (1908-1908); Amanda Edna (1911-1999).
